Liberty Hill HS Band: Summer Check-In #4

Panther Band Family,

Summer band has officially started and we are THRILLED! We had a fantastic first day with our full percussion and color guard sections and loved welcoming our new brass and woodwind players into our family.

I have been receiving Absence Request Forms from many families - thank you for using this new system to allow us to know when students are missing rehearsal.

On that note, please do everything you can to schedule around rehearsals. Every minute we have is critical to our success, especially as we are building fundamental skills and putting drill to our show on the field (starting next week!).

There have been some questions regarding both Panther Prowl and Panther Preview and our rehearsals. When I originally received schedules from administration, I worked out with them to release students at 7 PM on Wednesday, August 9 to attend Panther Preview for that final hour.

Regarding Panther Prowl (Monday, August 14), after discussion with the directors, we have edited our rehearsal schedule on Monday, August 14 to end at 5 PM so students can attend all of Panther Prowl. To recover this rehearsal time (and give us an opportunity to put more drill on the field), we have added a rehearsal from 8 AM to 12 PM on Tuesday, August 15. Both of these rehearsals are updated on the Google Calendar.

Finally, there is a new BAND group for all members and parents of the 23-24 Panther Band - https://lhhs.band/band. The current BAND group (now marked as old) has too many members that are not immediately associated with the program. Please join the new BAND group as soon as you can as we will be closing the old BAND group in a week.
